  1. I have read several of Todd Wilson’s articles and really enjoyed them!! I hope I win!!

    • Thanks Judy! You’ve got good odds right now. Yes, Todd’s stuff is so practical and funny. I really enjoy it too! :)

  2. This book sounds great! I have never heard of a book in this area. It would be wonderful to read about other moms who walk out real life in this area that I often feel so alone in:) Can’t wait to read it!!

    • Thanks Monica! I kept looking for a book like this too and never could find one, so God gave me the idea to write one! I hope you like it!

  3. I’m going to the convention – so excited! This book looks great. I always like to read and hear about other real moms and their struggles and victories in homeschooling. It makes me feel less alone in the daily struggle.

    • Thanks Laurie. Have fun at the convention! Wish I could fly out there from Oklahoma. Sounds like it will be great!

  4. Good Morning Charity,
So excited to see a book about what “really” happens in the life of a home school mom! I’m sure your book will be a blessing and an encouragement to so many of us on our home schooling journey! God Bless!!

  5. Thanks Sharon. I pray it will be an encouragement too. God Bless you too!

    • Thank you! Yes, Anna Nadler is the artist who did the illustration for the cover and she’s amazing!

  6. I would love to read your book! It sounds like just what I need: a good laugh about real life. It’s funny because it is true, as they say! Thanks for offering an honest picture of what we are all experiencing at home.

    • Yes, my kids are the funniest people I know! :) It is funny because it is true, you are right!

  7. The book does sound funny! I’d like to win too – will be looking for it at the convention!

  8. Thanks Julia! It will be at the Familyman booth at the convention. Have fun!

  9. I’d love to be introduced to the author assuming he’s biblical and loves the Lord. I look fwd to any ideas and real experiences. This is my first year and I’m scared but exicited at the same time. I’m having fun (the kids seem happy too) and we’re trying to keep God as the central focus. God is making this awesome! I just need to relax and get out of his way!

    • Hi Theresa, Well, I think you’d love The Homeschool Experiment if this is your first year. I’m the author of that one and my pen name is Charity Hawkins, and I believe in the Bible as God’s word and love the Lord, though I still mess up a lot. The man who’ll be representing the book and speaking at the convention is Todd Wilson, the Familyman, and he’s written Lies Homeschooling Moms Believe as well as some other great books, and he also believes the Bible, loves the Lord, and is an awesome speaker. I’d encourage you to get that Lies HS Moms Believe book too. It’s a great one as well. Thanks for leaving a comment!

    • Bummer. Well, I’ve got you entered in this giveaway with your comment. Thanks! (Not sure if this conference makes CDs available, but in the past I’ve ordered conference CDs or borrowed them from friends when I couldn’t go and they were great motivation.)

  10. Cheryl, I’m entering this comment for you because I think you meant to enter over here instead of on Facebook. Thanks! – Charity

  11. Well, I can totally relate to the forward! How in the world did you find time to write a book? Guess I’ll need to read it to find out. :-) I could always use more humor and encouragement. Thanks for allowing God to use you!

    • Well, how I had time is: God put it on my heart to write the story of homeschooling in novel form (I have always written and thought I’d focus on it ‘someday’), I started the next day, my husband watched the kids every spare moment for the last year, our house was a mess and we ate a lot of fast food. I truly think God has a plan for it to encourage moms’ hearts because of all the doors He has opened, but I’m not writing another book for at least 10 more years, probably 20! :) There will be another season of life for writing, but right now it’s just too much for me. I like slower days! Thanks for commenting!

  12. I saw your sponsored link on facebook and it caught my eye since I am “trying out” homeschooling for my kindergartener next year. :) I am pleased to be a resident of North Carolina – maybe I can go to your convention next year.

    • Great! I’m so glad you found it too! I just made that Facebook ad last night, so it looks like they may actually work! :) If you’re just trying out homeschooling, you would really enjoy the book, I think! Maybe you’ll win—I’m off to go see who the winner is!
